The Most Valuable Cards From Shadowverse: Evolve

Oct 11, 2023

The prices evolve alongside these outstanding cards.

Shadowverse: Evolve is from Bushiroad, the developers behind Cardfight!! Vanguard. Based on the digital card game with the same name, this game focuses on high-fantasy characters with an anime art style that is sure to grab the attention of collectors everywhere. Like most sets in a card game’s infancy, the high-rarity cards are sought after due to their low pull rates. With popular characters stemming from mobile games like Granblue Fantasy, players are eager to jump in and fight against each other with their shiny foiled Leader cards.

While the game is similar to other digital collectible card games like Legends Of Runeterra or Hearthstone, Shadowverse: Evolve uses the unique Evolve mechanic to power up your followers even more, giving the developers a blank canvas for incredible art of their beloved characters.

This card came out of nowhere. When the Advent Of Genesis was released, Jeanne’s non-evolved version sold for a couple of dollars, and now it's selling for upwards of twenty. The Ultimate version of the evolved card is so gorgeous; it only makes sense to be priced at around $100.

A lot of players slept on this card. While Havencraft is not a meta-defining class in the first set, it gets enough tools in the second set, Reign Of Bahamut, to be considered a top-tier competitor against the mighty Dragons.

As one of the fairy queens, Aria can spam the field with the help of Ancient Elf and Rose Queen to overwhelm your opponent. This card is the secondary leader for Forestcraft besides the starter deck Arisa.

Forestcraft decks focus on summoning a ton of small fairy tokens that can be used to trigger your other card effects like Rhinoceroach, which earns attack and defense counters whenever a follower gets played, enabling an OTK that can be deadly if done correctly.

The face of Swordcraft, Erika is a nimble swordswoman with a maid aesthetic that players love. She is the loyal servant of the Princess of Aleister in the Shadowverse universe. As a dutiful knight, her deck will summon ranks of soldiers ready to battle upon signal.

Erika is the leader included in the Swordcraft starter deck, but you are able to find a foil version of the card in Advent Of Genesis. Just make sure you have the right size sleeves to protect your investment.

Advent Of Genesis includes many chase cards in the form of leader cards, but half of them are just foil versions of the leaders found packed in with the six different starter decks. The alternate leaders are only found within the booster set, so you would think that the alternate leaders would be worth much more than the regular ones.

Arisa is a fan favorite, making her price skyrocket past her counterpart in Aria, Dancing Fairy. She is the protagonist of the Forestcraft class, and when you start playing the digital version, she is the first face you meet in the fairy-filled forest.

Not only does Dragoncraft take the gold medal when it comes to the best deck of the format, but their “ace” card, Dark Dragoon Forte, has one of the best-looking Ultimate cards in the entire set. It’s not as valuable as some of the leader cards, but a lot of the time, those cards feature basic artwork that doesn’t stand out as much as they should when every other card in the set is an amazing piece of art closely comparable to Pokemon's full arts.

Forte is an amazing card on its own, driving the price up substantially, then you add some incredible art of the best girl on her dragon and sprinkle in a bit of the “waifu” tax, and you got a hefty investment on your hands.

Like the rest of the highest-priced cards in the set, Ramina is another foil Leader card. This one supports the Havencraft class, with their myriad of control tools in the shape of Amulets and Tiger cards with religious motifs.

This Ramina card differs from one found in the Havencraft starter deck, Maculate Ablution, but this chase foil version is only found once in every 16 booster boxes, hence the high price tag. If you think the starter deck card is boring and needs a bit more foil and shine sitting on top of your playmat, then this card is the right move.

This leader card suffers from the same fate as the Jeanne d’Arc card. Abysscraft, known as the combination of Shadowcraft and Bloodcraft from the digital version of Shadowverse, has a great deck in the first set of the physical format. Still, it is not as competitive as Aggro Swordcraft or any of the Dragoncraft builds.

Luckily for any Abyss players, the future looks bright. In the following sets after Advent Of Genesis, Abysscraft gets many cards that support better strategies, including Necromancy and even Bats, similar to Runeterra's Elise decks.

If Dragon is the meta deck to play in this format, then Rune comes in second but defeats the mighty wyverns in popularity. It seems like everyone and their mothers want to play Runecraft. And who’s to blame them? The first booster set comes with Rune cards that help out two vastly different strategies in was is commonly known as “Dirt” Rune, due to the Earth Rite mechanic, or Dimension Shift OTK.

Every Runecraft will want to get their hands on this foil version of the famed alchemist rather than the alternate leader in Erasmus.

Unlike her counterpart Erika, this Aurelia, Blooming Blade leader card is downright gorgeous. The pink-garbed paladin is striking an action pose in front of a stunning cherry blossom field, ready to defeat her opponents with the power of Royal Banner.

Some of the alternate Leader cards in the set are a bit disappointing since they’re just foil versions of the same card you can get included in your starter deck, but if you need something more distinct than a plain knight, Aurelia is the way to go. Just be careful with that hefty price tag.

Let’s be honest. Not many people like Rowan enough to flaunt his Leader every time you sit at a table to play. That is why Zirnitra exists. The red-haired beauty is ready to grace your playmat, as long as you have the cash to blow.

Just like Dark Dragoon Forte, Zirnitra is the most expensive card in the Advent Of Genesis set due to the Dragoncraft class being top tier in the format. Players love their meta decks, and they love to foil them out even more.
